What is IBR and which valves need IBR certification in Indian power plants?
IBR (Indian Boiler Regulations, 1950) is the regulatory framework for boilers and steam vessels under the Indian Boilers Act. All valves on steam lines with pressure above 3.5 kg/cm² (0.35 MPa) and temperature above 99°C require IBR certification.
