It specifies tighter chemical composition limits, hardness caps, and impact testing requirements beyond ASME or API minimum requirements — particularly for duplex stainless steel and carbon steel in sour service. It is mandatory for Equinor-operated platforms and most Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) licensed fields.
