Ductile Iron — Fluid Compatibility

Which industrial fluids Ductile Iron valves can handle — rated across 7 process media with engineering notes. The compatibility reference for specifying Ductile Iron body and trim.

What fluids is Ductile Iron compatible with?

Ductile Iron is rated across 7 industrial fluids in our compatibility data. It performs well in Compressed Air, Cooling Water, Diesel Fuel / Fuel Oil, Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO / Bunker C / Fuel Oil No. 6), Hot Water (District Heating / Process Hot Water), LPG - Liquefied Petroleum Gas. It is not recommended for Sulphuric Acid (H₂SO₄). Full ratings and notes below — always confirm against concentration, temperature and velocity.
