Suitable Services

Potable water and municipal water distribution (with approved lining)

Industrial firewater and fire protection systems per NFPA 13

HVAC chilled water, condenser water, and heating circuits

Cooling tower water systems

Irrigation and agricultural water distribution

Low-pressure steam (≤ 1 bar, heating systems)

Sewage and grey water in building services

Not Suitable For

Corrosive chemical service - use stainless steel or lined construction

High-temperature steam above 350°C - use carbon or alloy steel

Sour service (H₂S) or offshore environments

Cryogenic service - ductile iron embrittles below −20°C

Valve Body Applications

Resilient-seated gate valves for municipal water mains (PN10/16)

Butterfly valve bodies for HVAC, cooling water, and firewater systems

Ball valve bodies for utility and low-pressure process water

Check valve bodies for pump discharge in waterworks

Strainer bodies in building services and irrigation systems

Trim Applications

Not typically used for trim - seats are rubber/EPDM/NBR moulded into the body

Typical Valve Types in ASTM A395 / ISO 1083 GGG-40

Gate valves: resilient-seated PN10/16, DN50–DN600, waterworks

Butterfly valves: wafer/lug PN10/16, HVAC and firewater

Ball valves: full-bore PN16/40, utility water and air

Check valves: swing and wafer type, pump discharge, DN50–DN300
