Hungary's industrial valve market is dominated by MOL Group — Central Europe's second-largest integrated oil and gas company — whose Danube Refinery at Százhalombatta (8.1 million tonnes/year, Hungary's largest industrial complex) drives demand for ASME B16.34 process valves, API 600 gate valves, and API 526 safety relief valves. MOL's Tisza Chemical Group (TVK) at Tiszaújváros is one of Europe's largest ethylene and propylene producers, requiring corrosion-resistant SS 316 and Hastelloy butterfly and ball valves. BorsodChem (Wanhua Chemical Group, Kazincbarcika — Hungary's largest chemical exporter: MDI, PVC, TDI production) adds specialty valve demand for chlorine, HCl, and phosgene service — requiring PTFE-lined, Hastelloy, and titanium-body valves. MVM Group's Paks Nuclear Power Plant (4 × VVER-440 reactors, 2,000 MW — Hungary's largest power source at 48% of electricity) requires ASME Section III nuclear-qualified gate, globe, and check valves for refuelling outages and plant life extension. The Hungarian government is constructing Paks II (2 × VVER-1200, 2,400 MW, Rosatom — scheduled 2031–2035) which will require large volumes of nuclear-qualified and industrial valves for construction.
