Overview - EN 593
EN 593 is the European standard governing the design, manufacture, materials, and testing of metallic butterfly valves for industrial service. It covers face-to-face dimensions, pressure-temperature ratings, seat leakage classifications, and testing procedures. EN 593 is mandatory for butterfly valves supplied into European Union projects and is referenced alongside PED 2014/68/EU for pressure equipment in the EU.
Scope
Applies to metallic butterfly valves DN 40 to DN 2000 in pressure ratings PN 2.5 through PN 40. Covers concentric (rubber-seated), double-offset, and triple-offset designs in wafer, lug, and double-flanged configurations.
Vajra Industrial Solutions manufactures and supplies valves engineered to comply with EN 593, each delivered with EN 593 compliance declaration and EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 Material Test Reports as standard.
