ISO 10497
InternationalTesting of Valves - Fire Type-Testing Requirements
ISO 10497 specifies the fire type-testing requirements for industrial valves to assess their ability to limit leakage during and after exposure to fire.
What is ISO 10497?
ISO 10497 (Testing of Valves - Fire Type-Testing Requirements) is an industrial valve standard issued by International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Applies to industrial metallic valves of all types including gate, ball, butterfly, globe, and plug valves in all sizes and pressure classes.

Overview - ISO 10497
ISO 10497 specifies the fire type-testing requirements for industrial valves to assess their ability to limit leakage during and after exposure to fire. It is the international equivalent of API 607 (for quarter-turn valves) and is increasingly specified alongside or instead of API 607 for global projects. ISO 10497 applies to all valve types including gate, ball, butterfly, globe, and plug valves.
Scope
Applies to industrial metallic valves of all types including gate, ball, butterfly, globe, and plug valves in all sizes and pressure classes. Tests the valve's performance under fire conditions to ensure it does not become a source of hydrocarbon release in a fire scenario.
Vajra Industrial Solutions manufactures and supplies valves engineered to comply with ISO 10497, each delivered with ISO 10497 fire test type certificate and Accredited test facility certificate as standard.
