Scope
EN 558 defines basic series (Series 1 = short pattern; Series 14/15 = standard; Series 20 = long pattern) for gate, globe, check, ball, and butterfly valves in PN 6 to PN 420 ratings. It is the primary dimensional reference for valves in EN 1092-1 flanged pipework. Designers specify EN 558 series numbers to ensure interchangeability between valve brands in European plant designs.
