API 602
AmericanGate, Globe, and Check Valves for Sizes DN 100 and Smaller for the Petroleum and Natural Gas Industries
API 602 covers compact forged steel gate, globe, and check valves in sizes NPS 1½ and smaller for petroleum and natural gas service.
What is API 602?
API 602 (Gate, Globe, and Check Valves for Sizes DN 100 and Smaller for the Petroleum and Natural Gas Industries) is an industrial valve standard issued by American Petroleum Institute (API). Applies to forged and bar-stock carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel gate, globe, angle, and check valves NPS 1½ (DN 40) and smaller in pressure classes 800, 1500, and 2500.

Overview - API 602
API 602 covers compact forged steel gate, globe, and check valves in sizes NPS 1½ and smaller for petroleum and natural gas service. Unlike API 600 which governs cast steel large-bore gate valves, API 602 addresses the small bore segment where forged construction is standard and compact face-to-face dimensions save weight and cost. API 602 valves are ubiquitous in instrument root valve, bypass, sample valve, and small utility applications.
Scope
Applies to forged and bar-stock carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel gate, globe, angle, and check valves NPS 1½ (DN 40) and smaller in pressure classes 800, 1500, and 2500. Threaded, socket weld, and butt-weld end connections. Covers both integral and flanged bonnets.
Vajra Industrial Solutions manufactures and supplies valves engineered to comply with API 602, each delivered with Material Test Reports (MTR) - 3.1 certification and Pressure test certificate as standard.
