Suitable Services
Subsea wellhead and tree valves in aggressive sour/seawater service
Offshore desalination (SWRO) pump and valve trains at 600 bar
Seawater injection valves on floating production units (FPSO, FLNG)
Offshore flare and blowdown isolation in chloride-laden atmosphere
Chemical process valves handling hot concentrated chlorides, bleach, or HF
Not Suitable For
Service above +300°C - risk of sigma-phase embrittlement
Strong nitric acid service - 316L or Alloy 20 more appropriate
Where cost is the primary driver - A182 F51 (Duplex 2205) is 30-40% less expensive
Valve Body Applications
Ball valve bodies for seawater injection at 600 bar offshore
Gate valve bodies for subsea wellhead and christmas tree service
Globe valve bodies in desalination SWRO brine/reject circuits
Check valve bodies in chloride-laden offshore environments
Trim Applications
Ball and seat inserts in seawater service (work-hardened F53 or Stellite 6 overlay)
Gate valve wedge overlaid with F53 weld deposit for chloride erosion-corrosion
Stem material for ball and gate valves in offshore chemical injection
