Suitable Services
High-pressure steam up to Class 900
Crude oil, refined products, and natural gas in high-pressure lines
Utility water and condensate at elevated pressure
Non-corrosive process fluids requiring higher pressure ratings
Not Suitable For
Corrosive or sour (H₂S) service — use stainless or low-alloy steel
Below −29°C — use A352 LCC or LCB for low-temperature
Valve Body Applications
Gate, globe, and check valve bodies in Class 600–900 service
Ball valve bodies where higher pressure class is required vs WCB
High-pressure steam headers and turbine bypass valves
Refinery and petrochemical valves in elevated pressure hydrocarbon service
Trim Applications
Stems and bonnets in Class 600–900 gate and globe valves
Typical Valve Types in ASTM A216 WCC
Gate valves: Class 600–900 carbon steel
