Suitable Services
Steam service (up to Class 1500 with IBR certification)
Water, cooling water, firewater
Crude oil and petroleum products
Natural gas and LPG (with fire-safe design)
General process gases and vapours (non-corrosive)
Compressed air
Utility systems — nitrogen, instrument air
Not Suitable For
Temperatures below −29°C (use A352 LCB or LCC for low-temperature service)
Strong acids (sulphuric, hydrochloric, nitric) — use SS 316 or Hastelloy
Seawater (severe corrosion — use duplex or bronze)
Wet H₂S / sour service below pH 7 without NACE compliance (use NACE-compliant WCB with hardness control)
High chloride environments
Valve Body Applications
Gate valve bodies — all sizes and pressure classes
Globe valve bodies
Ball valve bodies (split body or trunnion-mounted)
Check valve bodies
Butterfly valve bodies
Strainer bodies
Trim Applications
Gate valve wedge and seats
Globe valve seats and discs
WCB trim not recommended without hardening — typically overlaid with 13Cr or Stellite
