Suitable Services
Food and beverage industry — dairy, brewery, beverage filling lines
Pharmaceutical process water and CIP systems
Marine (non-chloride seawater service) — deck service, freshwater systems
Mild chemical service — weak acids, alkalis, alcohols, solvents
General stainless service where CF8M (316) is over-specified
Not Suitable For
Seawater or high-chloride service — pitting corrosion; use CF8M (316) or higher
Strong acid service (HCl, H₂SO₄) — nickel alloys required
High-temperature oxidising above 800°C — use high-alloy HH or HK grade
Valve Body Applications
Gate valve bodies (large bore DN50–DN600) in general-purpose stainless service
Globe valve bodies in process chemical and steam service
Check valve bodies — swing and lift type in stainless service
Strainer bodies in stainless service (food, pharmaceutical, mild chemical)
Trim Applications
Trim sets (seats, stems, discs) for CF8 valve assemblies
Back-seat bushings and bonnet flanges
